Business Model You Coaching for Start-Ups

One of the best things we do at Really Useful Training is to deliver workshops for people who want to start their own business. I like to use Business Model Canvas and in particular Business Model You for Startups.

I also like to coach people whether it is career coaching or business coaching. So the Powering  Recovery theme of the International Coaching Federation was the perfect opportunity to combine both activities.

This month we are delivering a Business Model You workshop to Start-ups at Cork City Partnership, as part of International Coaching week.

Business Coaching

Coaching, especially as the early stages of Start-ups, can deliver a real benefit. It challenges you to revise your idea, business and especially your business model.

According to research at  ICF Global Coaching Client Study, companies that use or have used professional coaching for business reasons report a measurable  return on their initial investment.

While a recent article by Forbes Magazine suggests that business coaches are integral to success of start-ups. They can help you to hone your negotiation skills and act as a sounding board on the best ways to manage interpersonal relationships.

Cork City Partnership

If you  are unemployed, Cork City Partnership may be able to help you. They work with people who want to start their own business.

They can help you to:

  • Assess your business idea.
  • Identify your project needs.
  • Develop your business potential
  • Prepare and write a Business plan.
  • Help you to apply for the ‘Back to Work Enterprise Allowance’ scheme.
  • Provide ongoing assistance through business mentoring.
  • Access Enterprise training.
  • Get involved in business networks.

Everyone who decides to start a business faces different challenges. Often they don't want to confide in family or friends. They need that independent voice and ears.

The Business Model You workshop provides a space where the new entrepreneur is both coach and coachee. This level of interaction and support is incredibly valuable and often delivers unexpected results.
